{"id":1326,"date":"2020-03-18T16:39:54","date_gmt":"2020-03-18T20:39:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cindyfaughnan.com\/?p=1326"},"modified":"2020-03-18T16:39:54","modified_gmt":"2020-03-18T20:39:54","slug":"poetry-challenge-130","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cindyfaughnan.com\/index.php\/2020\/03\/18\/poetry-challenge-130\/","title":{"rendered":"Poetry Challenge #130"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em> Ode to the Apple<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You know the adage: \u201cAn apple a day keeps the doctor away?\u201d Today, in honor of a guy who must have had a phobia about doctors, let\u2019s spread the apple love!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>March 11th is <a href=\"https:\/\/nationaldaycalendar.com\/national-johnny-appleseed-day-march-11\">Johnny Appleseed Day<\/a> in \u00a0celebration of John Chapman who in 1797 (and maybe before, \u00a0but that\u2019s the first recorded mention), traveled around sharing apple seeds, tending ailing orchards\u2014spreading apple (and pear) love. For today\u2019s poem let\u2019s write an ode to the Apple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grab an apple, either an actual hold-it-in-your-hand-and-take-a-bite type, or tap into an apple memory to write a poem in praise of apples or Johnny Appleseed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Choose a nice juicy apple<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Set your timer for 7-Minutes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ready! Set! Bite! . . . <em>WRITE!<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Don\u2019t think about it too much\u2014just do it! <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kellybennett.com\/blog\/\">Kelly Bennett&nbsp;<\/a>and I began \nthis 7-Minute Poetry Challenge over 1400 days ago.
